Extruded Nylon (PA 6.6 + F.V. 30%)
General:
Polymer obtained from the polymerization of hexamethylenediamine and acid with addition of 30% glass charge. The glass charge makes the material exceptionally abrasion resistant to compression and bending
Technical features:
- Wear resistance, is among the highest among the technopolymer, is typical of polyamides and is increased by glass fiber
- Compression and traction are high, fatigue resistance is excellent as the general mechanical properties
- Resistance to aging, is resistant to weathering and low temperatures
Defects:
- In the case of couplings with clutch members, the glass component also causes abrasion of the steel with which it is in contact.
- The glass component wears most of the utelsili during mechanical machining
Applications:
- Mechanical: high compression resistance, and very high wear resistance, at maximum values compared to all technopolymers. Is a particularly suitable material for obtaining high strength gears and mechanical parts, which can also work in critical environments such as shipyards or on earth moving machines without being under wear
- Food: it is not used in contact with food
- Electric: although limited by the varying humidity absorbed, electrical characteristics vary; However, is used when mechanical resistance and weathering are required
- Chemical: good alkali resistance, inorganic compounds and solvents
