Extruded Nylon (PA 6.6)
General:
Polymer obtained from the polymerization of hexamethylenediamine and acid. Greater stiffness compared to polyamide stendard and better machinability to machines
Technical features:
- Wear resistance, even for harsh uses
- Self-lubricating with low friction coefficient
- Toughness, high traction and compression strength
- Machinability with automatic machines is facilitated by breaking the chip during the
- Resistance to aging and atmospheric agents
Defects:
Igroscopic, absorbs slightly less water and humidity than PA 6
Applications:
- Mechanical: preferred to PA 6 when high rigidity is required for the production of gears, cams, pulleys, wear guides, wheels and mechanical parts in general
- Food: can be used in some cases in contact with food
- Electrical: The strong sensitivity to the variations in humidity with the consequent variation in mechanical characteristics strongly restricts its use in the electrical sector.
- Chemical: good alkali resistance, inorganic compounds and solvents
