Extruded Nylon (PA 6 + MOS2)
General:
Semicrystalline polyamide polymer obtained by the polymerization of the caprolactam for extrusion with the addition of MOS2 molybdenum bisulfide
Technical features:
- Better wear resistance than standard polyamide and sliding properties
- Tensile and compressive strength
- Higher impact of a PA 6
- High fatigue resistance
- Self-lubricating with low friction coefficient
- Resistance to aging, atmospheric agents and gas temperatures
Defects:
- Igroscopic though less than PA 6
- It is less workable than PA 6 G MOS2
Applications:
- Mechanical: Good mechanical properties are preferred to the cast version for the production of small gears, pulleys, wheels and anti-wear guides. It has great applications for its good resistance to UV and weather.
- Food: it is not used in contact with food
- Electrical with varying humidity absorbed varying electrical characteristics; However, is used when mechanical resistances are required
- Chemical: good alkali resistance, inorganic compounds and solvents
