Arnite (PET)
General:
PET or PETP è a semicrystalline polymer, è suitable for obtaining mechanical details that have the primary dimensional stability and low coefficient of friction.
Technical features:
- Low coefficient of friction
- Dimensional stability at both temperature and humidity
- Compression resistance even at low temperatures
- Excellent workability for machine tools.
- High fatigue resistance
Defects:
Material è very tough, but impact resistance is not high
Application:
- Mechanical: given the low coefficient of friction è a material especially used for sliding, bearing, slides, guides, etc. The dimensional stability makes it irreplaceable for precision parts with narrow tolerances to be maintained even in humid or heat environments
- Food: è physiologically inert and widely used in the food processing industry
- Electrical: excellent electrical characteristics kept in time make it widely used for insulators or electrical applications
- Chemical: good resistance to acids and chlorinated solutions
