Extruded Nylon (Pa 6)
General:
Semicrystalline polyamide polymer obtained by polymerization of the extrusion caprolactone which allows to obtain high mechanical resilience and a high qualitative level.
Technical features:
- Resistance to abrasion, even in dusty abmients
- tenacity
- Tensile and compressive strength
- High fatigue resistance.
- Self-lubricating with low friction coefficient
- Resistance to aging, resistant to weathering and low temperatures
Defects:
- hygroscopic
- Machining difficulties with autometric machine tools for the production of very elastic and long chips.
- Dry is very harsh and fragile
Applications:
Mechanics: With good performance – cost is one of the most widely used materials for the production of gears, cams, pulleys, wheels and wear-resistant guides, bearings, etc.
Food: It is not generally used in contact with food
Electrical: The strong sensitivity to the variations in humidity with the consequent variation in mechanical characteristics strongly restricts its use in the electrical sector.
Chemicals: good alkali resistance, inorganic compounds and solvents
